Have you been attending LLL meetings and sharing your own personal experience to help other new mothers facing similar issues? If you feel this is a gratifying way to connect with other mothers, consider becoming a LLL Leader. Leaders help mothers by phone, email or in person; conduct monthly meetings; manage the group's membership, finances, library, etc.; stay up-to-date on breastfeeding information through continuing education; and help members become leaders themselves.

The application process involves reading widely in the areas of pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and parenting, writing about your personal experiences as a breastfeeding mother, and working with your Group Leaders to review the material. Leader applicants can set their own pace; most finish within two years, though it is possible to complete the requirements in a few months.
